“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power… and pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” (Ephesians 6:10,18)

Here we are at the final week of our WDYTYA series: I AM A WARRIOR.

Before we go there, let's recap. Over the last seven weeks, we’ve come to know and realize that our identity is in Christ. In Him, we have all that we need - every spiritual blessing. We know that He chose us in Him to be holy and blameless because of His great love for us. In Him we are redeemed - from our sins and for a purpose.

Everything we learned was not to keep to ourselves or ponder it alone. We are called to the Body of Christ. With that in mind, let's consider our warrior identity.

The enemy of our souls knows the damage that can be done when we are confident in who we are in Christ and unite with the Body. We must be ready to fight the good fight and keep the faith. It’s a good fight, but it’s still a fight. There is a war going on. We were born into it. But rather than fighting for victory, when you know Christ and know who you are in Him, you can fight from the position of victory!

Maybe you never saw yourself as a warrior but you are! Look back at everything we have discussed in this WDYTYA series. Our confidence is not in our flesh but in Christ! God’s divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness. Jesus said that he gave us authority over the power of the enemy. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is living inside of us

Every time I've gone through WDYTYA with a small group, this session was very different than the rest. In the weeks prior, the emphasis was the discussion, and then we would close with a time of prayer. However, with this final topic, we briefly recapped, read Scripture, and then took the remainder of our time together to fight and pray. And we did. Like warriors!

But that wasn't just for the members of those small groups. It's for you, too! You are a warrior!

So, with power and assurance, fight. Grab hold of the sword of the Spirit. Fight in the Spirit. Fight for others to know Christ, to know who they are in Christ, and for others to step into the call and plan He has for them. Fight with the armor you’ve been given. Jesus died to give us access to His throne room. It’s time to go there boldly.
