I'm grateful for the testimony that my friend, Jennie Torres, shared this week. I appreciated that she allowed us a glimpse into the different seasons of her life to get an understanding of what she had gone through. Many people find themselves in trouble because they were never educated on how to manage their finances. A girl out on her own at a young age, mourning the loss of her mom, just doing what she thought was okay. Often times we start off meaning well and then find ourselves in a hole. Thankfully, we were able to see God's intervention of faithfulness in the midst of a very difficult situation.
The reason for stories like Jennie's (and many of the guest bloggers) and studies like Stress Point is so that you ladies in your twenties are able to truly flourish, not struggle the way many of us did. My prayer is that you not only grow in your faith in Christ but also grow in practical wisdom. As you seek the Lord, pray, read His Word, and surround yourselves with Godly friends and counsel, it is possible to thrive. Check out what Sarah has to say in this chapter's video blog regarding money...
Through skillful and godly Wisdom is a house (a life, a home, a family) built, and by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation], and by knowledge shall its chambers [of every area] be filled with all precious and pleasant riches. – Proverbs 24:3-4 [AMP]
What are your thoughts on the whole money topic? If you could have any sort of training or advice on finances, what specifically would it be about?
