Pressing On Toward Your Purpose

It's a joy to have another guest post today! Let me introduce you to Ralphy who is one of the young adult leaders in We Are Young NYC. He and his wife, Noemi, have been such a blessing to the ministry and to me personally. I am grateful for the family of God at Lighthouse and to be serving with them. Dear pressing on toward the goal readers...

I want to first thank Jenn, and then all of you for the opportunity that has been given to share some things that I hope will be beneficial and encouraging to those who may stumble upon these simple words. It’s truly an honor.

I’m pretty new to the blog world, so this will be me moving some stuff around as I get situated in my new surroundings and more confortable. I was inspired to begin a blog by following and reading a few blogs myself, specifically pressing on toward the goal and Footprints in Concrete.  I've always had a way with words from an early age. In my youth, I was part of a few rap crews that came together and just rhymed. Loved poetry and spoken words. I was a graffiti writer as well that went by the moniker “SECTOR.” I always felt like I had a purpose - something to give, or leave to my generation. Growing up, I made a number of bad mistakes and decisions, but I must say, they shaped me up to be the man I am today. I’m 39. Married with two beautiful daughters and have the privilege of serving in my local church in our young adults ministry We Are Young NYC or WAYNYC for short. I’m currently walking in the call God has paved out for me and it’s a very exciting time!

To know what God wants from your life is a great thing, the hard part is staying the course to actually see it come about. You see, God burned a specific chapter in my heart when He began to deposit His vision for me. The point of reference is Joel 2. Joel foretells about an army that will rise up in its time. He says the Lord will thunder ahead of this army. What a powerful visual! I believe with all of my heart that there will be a generation that will rise up, standing on everything God has for them and cause a revival in our time that we desperately are in need of. The World (and its system) is not relenting on going after our generation, so I believe God is calling and separating a people that will not fall back, that will not falter, but as God leads them, will take hold of everything God has for them! This is why I live for this generation! God has given me a goal and a purpose and I’m pressing on towards it.

Are you living, pressing on towards a goal, or do your days just come and go? Do you know what your purpose is? Why does God wakes you up and allow you to see brand new days? The Bible says that LIFE is but a vapor. We can be here today, and gone by tomorrow. Nothing is promised. Jeremiah 29:11 (The Message) says; "I know what I'm doing. I have it all planned out - plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plants to give you to future you hope for."I don’t know about you, but that sure tells me that there is a goal set out in front of you. I think it’s time you start pressing on toward itYour life has purpose!

God be with you all...
