Jesus Loves the Little Children...

A few weeks ago I shared about a mission trip to Uganda that my friends Shelly, Ashley, and Christie were preparing for. I also included Shelly’s message about their needs for the trip which included financial donations. Well, they did receive the $1400 – within 24 hours! The Lord provided! I love when the family of God rallies together to give and support.
This is how it should always be...

While I was in Chicago, I had the opportunity to spend a little time with the girls prior to their departure on July 29th. Shelly, Ashley, and I were all in the bridal party for our friends Jamie and David who got married on July 28th. (Sidebar – I will most definitely be writing about Jamie and David in the very near future. They have an incredible story of how God brought them together and is now leading them to serve in Israel!).

Anyway, as with any mission trip, the girls experienced chaos here and there in the days leading up to the trip. Busyness, tiredness, and then, Shelly’s iPhone was stolen in O’Hare Airport just before they boarded their flight! But that didn’t stop them. Shelly posted on Facebook when they arrived and said they are having a blast. And it’s obvious by all the pictures they are being tagged in. My heart is so full as I see their arms wrapped around the most beautiful children; displaying the love of the Father to those who’ve never known a dad. I wish I could see Shelly in action because this is her heartbeat. We've had so many conversations about her desire to share the love of Jesus with these precious orphans. All three of the girls - Shelly, Ashley and Christie - have such a burden to minister to children and each of them are anointed to do so.

Jesus loves the little children and His love for the kids in the slums of Kampala is being poured out in enormous measures right now.

The ladies will return to Chicago on August 15th so they have another week in Uganda. Please keep them in prayer. They are making a radical difference in the Kingdom of God but they are in rough territory. No specific updates or prayer requests have been posted online but based on the pictures I've seen, I am sure great things are taking place. However, I'm also sure the opposition is great, too, which is why it's so important that the team is covered in prayer. No matter what they face, we know our God is greater! Pray for His presence to continue to be with them, for supernatural strength and grace as they pour themselves out, for every resource to be provided in the ministry there, and for the protection of every person.

Thanks so much for praying with me for my friends!
I look forward to hearing the praise reports from Shelly, Ashley, and Christie and sharing them with you here!

 pressing on toward the goal!
