Happy 80th Birthday, Bob!

April 14th is just about over but before this night comes to a close, I wanted to take the time to acknowledge a special birthday… of 80 years! Bob and his wife, Betty, are friends of our family. They have been a great blessing to us and we are thankful that God brought them into our lives.

My parents and I were blessed with the opportunity to celebrate Bob’s 80th with his family and close friends. It was a joy to celebrate a life well lived – of faithfulness to God and his family, service to his country and community, loyalty to his friends, integrity, perseverance, and devotion.

One of the things he is greatly devoted to is sports. Unfortunately, his devotion is to the Mets, which has created a bit of a rivalry between us. It was only right that I stick in a little Yankees decal into his gift bag (which I know I’ll get a payback for). But hey, he got his Mets win and Yankees loss on his day. He can’t complain! :-)

But on a serious note, I am thankful to know Bob and Betty, to have them as a part of our extended family and to be welcomed into theirs. They are truly special and we are grateful for their kindness, love, and friendship.

(there's a great story behind that Braves hat...)

Happy 80th Birthday, Bob! May God bless you in greater measures this year and the years to come!
