I love great quotes. I'm kind of a quote junkie. Okay, not kind of, I am. I seriously love quotes. I thought about keeping a journal with some of my favorites, except my favorites keep changing! I’ve jotted down several good ones (mostly on prayer) that stuck out to me over the past few weeks and wanted to share…

“The revelation of our spiritual standing is what we ask in prayer. Sometimes what we ask is an insult to God; we ask with our eyes on the possibilities or on ourselves, not on Jesus Christ.”
– Oswald Chambers

“Jesus is not too busy to hear you. Just be sure you are in earnest when you pray.” – Warren Wiersbe

“True faith will produce fervency in prayer, and both together will fetch in abundance of the fruits of Christ’s favour.” – Matthew Henry

*FYI: (Tangent) I love me some Matthew Henry...

“Prayer is not just about the answer; it’s also about glorifying God in the process of waiting for the answer.”Stovall Weems

“The reason why many fail in battle is because they wait until the hour of battle. The reason why others succeed is because they have gained their victory on their knees long before the battle came. Anticipate your battles; fight them on your knees before temptation comes, and you will always have victory.” – R.A. Torrey

“We must never forget that the highest kind of prayer is never the making of requests. Prayer at its holiest moment is the entering into God to a place of such blessed union as makes miracles seem tame and remarkable answers to prayer appear something very far short of wonderful by comparison.” – A.W. Tozer

“God does not want merely to answer our prayers; He wants to spend time with us to prepare us for the answer that will come.”
Stovall Weems

This last one was from Sunday’s sermon as my pastor closed out an awesome series, "The Invisible War," all about the Armor of God. Yesterday was all on prayer.

“Prayer is the communication with God that allows you to get suited for the battle.”Pastor Hector Torres

And the best quotes of all are from the Bible. Here's a powerful scripture on prayer...

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”Matthew 7:7-8

There are so many more I could share but I would love to hear from some of you. What's your favorite quote?
