Quick Break for Quotes...

Too much homework, too little time (too little time to blog the way I'd really like to). But I had to take a quick break to share some quotes, most which were in my readings for school.

Every time you make a choice, you are turning the control part of you into something a little different from what you were before. And taking your life as a whole, with all its innumerable choices, you are slowly turning the control thing either into a heavenly creature or into a hellish one.” – C. S. Lewis

"Knowing God's will may mean pushing down a narrow line until you hit a dead end. At that point, God will open a door so wide, you won't be able to see around it -- only through it!" - John MacArthur

"When you are in the dark, listen, and God will give you a very precious message for someone else when you get into the light." - Oswald Chambers

There are two kinds of means requisite to promote a revival: the one to influence God, the other to influence men. Prayer is an essential link in the influence that leads to a revival, as much so as truth is. Some have zealously used truth to convert men, and laid very little stress on prayer. They have preached, and talked, and distributed tracts with great zeal, and then wondered that they had so little success. And the reason was that they forgot to use the other branch of the means, effectual prayer. They overlooked the fact that truth, by itself, will never produce the effect, without the Spirit of God, and that the
Spirit is given in answer to prayer.” – Charles G. Finney

“Intercessory prayer is God’s all-powerful agency for the outpouring of the Spirit. No revival has ever yet been given apart from this ministry”. – Oswald J. Smith

“It is absolutely necessary for the preacher to pray. It is an absolute necessity that the preacher is prayed for. These two propositions are wedded into a union, which ought never to know any divorce: the preacher must pray; the preacher must be prayed for. It will take all the praying he can do, and all the praying he can get done, to meet the fearful responsibilities and gain the largest, truest success in his great work.” – E. M. Bounds

“To prevail is ‘to be successful in the face of difficulty, to completely dominate, to overcome and triumph.’ Prevailing prayer is prayer that pushes right through all difficulties and obstacles, drives back all the opposing forces of Satan, and secures the will of God. Its purpose is to accomplish God’s will on earth. Prevailing prayer is prayer that not only takes the initiative but continues on the offensive for God until spiritual victory is won.”
Wesley L. Duewel

Okay ... back to work.
