This morning was quite similar to yesterday's morning. I fell asleep on the couch last night without setting my alarm. I left my contacts in and left refrigerated items on the counter. Unlike yesterday though, I didn't make it to work in time. I was not a happy camper.
Once again, I had no time to make coffee - which can be detrimental to me and all those around me.
A glimpse of how I felt this morning...
Anyway, I left work early yesterday for a doctor's appointment all the way at the University of Chicago (on the south side - for all you non-Chicagoans). The traffic was horrendous - even with me leaving earlier than I normally would. I decided to keep myself sane by taking pictures while standing still on Lake Shore Drive.

It looks better than it really was.
There was a sign around here that said to go 25 mph. I wish we were going 25 mph!

Traffic in the opposite direction was flowing quite nicely. I wanted to cry.
I did get to U of C at a decent time considering all the drama. I was only 5 minutes late and my doctor is gracious. The campus is very beautiful. On the way back, I stopped to take a picture of this old church a few blocks away from the hospital. It's called Rockefeller Chapel. My friend Julie, who works @ U of C, told me about it. She stopped in there one day and spent time in prayer. How amazing it would be to see college students fill up the sanctuary and spend time in prayer as well! That's the vision of Chicago Tab's college ministry.

After making my way through traffic back up Lake Shore Drive, I went to our church's prayer meeting which was awesome. God is so faithful. We had such an incredible meeting. The Lord's presence was so evident.
"You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." - Psalm 16:11
There's nothing like the presence of God. His peace is there. His joy is there. And His joy is our strength.
Enjoy your weekend everyone! May it be blessed!
